Takakuni

cow

Mixed · exported 1998 · Westholme

Takakuni is one of the named Westholme foundation dams, part of Chris Walker's importation of about 84 black females from ET Japan Company in Hokkaido across 1997-1998 — the largest export pool of Japanese Wagyu females. The consignment carried roughly 44 Fujiyoshi, 28 Kedaka (eleven Hongen-registered) and 12 Tajiri, paired with the bulls Hirashige-Tayasu, Itomoritaka and Kitateruyasu Doi to blend milk, size and marbling. Takakuni is documented among the dams that bred on in Australia and helped found the herd now run as Westholme by the Australian Agricultural Company. Her individual strain and pedigree are not published in the accessible sources.
