Ringo 117

Ringo 117 was born in Japan in 1994, the natural calf of the foundation Akaushi dam Dai 8 Marunami, and came to America with her in Dr. Al and Marie Wood's Kumamoto importation — one of the nine females and three bulls that founded HeartBrand and the entire fullblood Akaushi population outside Japan. As a young imported female she is counted among the HeartBrand foundation dams. (An earlier ambiguity in some accounts — whether she was imported or first-generation US-born — is resolved by her documented 1994 Japanese birth to Dai 8 Marunami.) Further individual pedigree detail is not published in the sources reviewed, but her place among the small closed group of genuine Akaushi founders is secure.
