Kumamoto (Akaushi) · exported 1994 · Dr. Al & Marie Wood
Namoi — also rendered Naomi — was one of nine red Akaushi foundation females in Dr. Al and Marie Wood's 1994 importation from Kumamoto Prefecture. Rather than joining the HeartBrand nucleus in Texas, she and her calf were taken to Canada by Wagyu Sekai (Yukio and Ken Kurosawatsu), together with Dai 3 Namiaki, helping seed the Canadian Akaushi foundation. Her specific pedigree is not documented in the sources reviewed. She matters as one of the very small set of authentic red foundation dams exported before the 1997 Japanese ban, and as a bridge of Akaushi genetics into Canada.
