Nakagishi 5
Itozakura · exported 1994 · Mannett Group
Nakagishi 5 was one of the four black foundation females imported from Japan by the Mannett Group (World K's) in August 1994, alongside Okahana, Nakayuki and Kanetani plus the bulls Kenhanafuji and Takazakura. She is the best-characterized of that group's dams: her pedigree is reported to carry the great sire Dai 7 Itozakura together with Harumi appearing on both the sire and dam sides, giving her a distinctly Itozakura/Shimane-influenced makeup rather than the pure Tajima of the 1993 cows. This made her useful for adding line diversity to a narrow founding gene pool. Registered calves from the 1994 group after arrival included Tanitsuru, Nakazakura, Kitaguni Jr and Reiko. Her exact registration number and birth year were not found in public sources. She matters as a verifiable Japan-exported foundation dam contributing non-Tajima strength to the breed's maternal base outside Japan.
