Kitatsurukiku Doi
Tajima · exported 1998
Kitatsurukiku Doi, tagged '007,' is the third and most marbling-focused of the three black sires whose semen Westholme imported from ET Japan (Hokkaido) in 1998. His pedigree is a headline in itself: he is a son of Dai 2 Yasutsuru Doi, the very bull that sired JVP Fukutsuru 068, arguably the most famous marbling sire in American Wagyu history, and he descends directly from the legendary 'Hyogo Cow' Kikutsuru, the Tajiri-line matriarch behind the breed's finest, best-tasting fat. That places Kitatsurukiku Doi firmly in the pure Tajima Doi marbling world and made his semen a way to fold Fukutsuru-adjacent genetics into herds through an independent line. Because he arrived only as semen, routed through Australia, he is consistently omitted from live-import foundation lists, and his romanized name is easily confused with the Takeda-linked 'Kitatsurukikura' (a separate animal); the current WagyuTank data already flags that name collision under Mitsuhikokura. He is a genuine exported foundation sire and a valuable, under-recognized Tajima marbling source.
