Kitasakaedoi

cow

Mixed · exported 1998 · Westholme

Kitasakaedoi is one of the named foundation dams of Chris Walker's Westholme importation — roughly 84 black females brought from ET Japan Company in Hokkaido during 1997-1998, the deepest export pool of Japanese females before the ban. The consignment carried about 44 Fujiyoshi, 28 Kedaka (eleven Hongen-registered) and 12 Tajiri, matched with the bulls Hirashige-Tayasu, Itomoritaka and Kitateruyasu Doi. Her name combines the 'Kita' element with the 'Doi' suffix that marks the Tajiri/Tajima line, so her strain is ambiguous on name alone. She is documented among the dams that bred on in Australia and helped found the herd now run as Westholme by the Australian Agricultural Company. Her individual pedigree is not published.
