Kitaokumi

cow

Kedaka · exported 1998 · Westholme

Kitaokumi is one of the named Westholme foundation dams, part of Chris Walker's ~84-female importation from ET Japan Company in Hokkaido across 1997-1998 — the largest export pool of Japanese Wagyu females. The founding sires were Hirashige-Tayasu (Kedaka), Itomoritaka (Fujiyoshi) and Kitateruyasu Doi (Tajiri), and the females spanned roughly 44 Fujiyoshi, 28 Kedaka (eleven Hongen-registered) and 12 Tajiri. Her 'Kita' element tentatively places her in the Kedaka group prized for milk and size. She is documented among the dams that bred on in Australia, contributing to the modern Westholme herd operated by the Australian Agricultural Company. Her individual pedigree is not published in the accessible sources.
