Kitakazu

cow

Kedaka · exported 1998 · Westholme

Kitakazu is one of the named foundation dams from Chris Walker's Westholme importation of about 84 black females out of ET Japan Company in Hokkaido during 1997 and 1998. The consignment's strength was strain diversity — some 44 Fujiyoshi, 28 Kedaka (eleven Hongen-registered) and 12 Tajiri females — bred to add milk, frame and size to marbling, alongside the bulls Hirashige-Tayasu, Itomoritaka and Kitateruyasu Doi. Her 'Kita' name element tentatively links her to the Kedaka bloc. Kitakazu is documented among the dams that bred on in Australia. Her individual pedigree is not published in the accessible sources. She is part of the genetic foundation of today's Westholme/AACo herd.
