Kitahikari 97/1

cow

Kedaka · exported 1998 · Westholme

Kitahikari 97/1 is among the named Westholme foundation dams — part of Chris Walker's importation of roughly 84 black females from ET Japan Company in Hokkaido across 1997-1998. Her 'Kita' name element and 97/1 tag tentatively place her among the 28 Kedaka females (eleven of them Hongen-registered at Japan's top rank) that gave the Westholme consignment its distinctive milk-and-size character, complementing the 44 Fujiyoshi and 12 Tajiri females. The founding sires were Hirashige-Tayasu (Kedaka), Itomoritaka (Fujiyoshi) and Kitateruyasu Doi (Tajiri). She bred on in Australia and helped establish the herd now run as Westholme by the Australian Agricultural Company. Her detailed pedigree is not published.
