Itozakura · exported 1995 · 3,014 AU progeny

TF Itohana 2 (widely listed as TF38) is a Fullblood Black Fujiyoshi/Shimane bull born 22 October 1993 and exported to the United States by Takeda Farm as a two-year-old, part of Shogo Takeda's foundational consignments. He is intensely linebred to Dai 7 Itozakura, Shimane's most famous sire, which appears on both strands of his pedigree. His sire is his namesake Itohana J809 (a son of Dai 7 Itozakura J65) and his dam is Aino 6 J674297, matriarch of the modern Aizakura cow family. Breeders prize him as a frame- and growth-adding sire that lifts mature size and, notably, milking and maternal ability in Tajima-heavy herds, making him ideal for producing breeding females rather than terminal marbling. His progeny record the lightest average time on feed of the group (about 16.8 months) while still grading well. He is one of the most influential Takeda sires abroad, with roughly 3,014 registrations in Australia, and remains a cornerstone of maternal Itozakura/Fujiyoshi development outside Japan.
