Hikokura

cow

Mixed · exported 1997 · Sumo Wagyu

Hikokura is the foundation dam of one of the six Takeda Farm cow families that Sumo Wagyu (Simon Coates) imported to Australia as embryos from Shogo Takeda's Hokkaido herd. In Takeda's maternal-line records she sits within the Kinto-descended sequence Kinto - Ezokinto - Kinto - Hikokura - Hikohime, making her an ancestress of the related Hikohime family. Sumo Wagyu lists Hikokura among its founding Takeda cow families whose descendants became some of the most elite progeny of the Australian herd. As an embryo import her exact birth data, registration and strain are not published. She is included as a documented Takeda foundation dam underpinning the Sumo/Australian Wagyu herd.
