Hikohime

cow

Mixed · exported 1997 · Sumo Wagyu

Hikohime is the foundation dam of one of the six Takeda Farm cow families that Simon Coates of Sumo Wagyu imported to Australia as embryos from Shogo Takeda's Hokkaido herd. In Takeda's maternal-line records she appears in the long Kinto-descended sequence Kinto - Ezokinto - Kinto - Hikokura - Hikohime - Takechiyo - Namihikokura. Sumo Wagyu names Hikohime explicitly as one of its founding Takeda cow families, whose descendants became some of the most prized progeny of the Australian Wagyu herd. Because she was imported as embryos rather than a live cow, her exact birth data, registration and strain are not published in the accessible sources. She matters as a documented Takeda foundation dam behind the Sumo/Australian herd.
