Itozuru Doi
Mixed · exported 1997 · 2,632 AU progeny
Itozuru Doi, tag TF151, is a Takeda Farm ('TF') foundation bull exported to the USA in the 1990s and dispersed into the Australian and Canadian herds. Genetically he is a blend, approximately 50% Tajima, 25% Fujiyoshi and 25% Kedaka, descending from Itokitazuru J1081, one of the important sons of the great Shimane sire Dai 7 Itozakura (his grandsire). His dam, Yasuhime J433313, was sired by Yasumi Doi J10328 out of a Kikuteru Doi daughter, weaving Naka Doi/Kikumi Doi lines into his pedigree. That diversity makes him useful as an outcross that still carries famous Itozakura growth genetics into marbling-heavy herds. His progeny are known for size and carcass weight; among foundation-sire groups his produced some of the heaviest average carcasses (about 457 kg after 21.4 months on feed). With roughly 2,632 Australian-registered progeny, he is a solidly used, growth-oriented foundation sire, though less numerous than the top Tajima marbling bulls.
