Itoshigefuji
Itozakura · exported 1997 · 4,168 AU progeny
Itoshigefuji, tag TF147 (FB3681), was born 18 September 1995 at Teruo Nakamura's farm and exported to the USA by Takeda Farm in the late 1990s, later anchoring Australian and Canadian herds. He is linebred to the legendary Shimane sire Dai 7 Itozakura: sired by Itofuji out of Dai 30 Noboru, a daughter of Itomichi J1158, Takeda's famous son of Dai 7 Itozakura and one of only a handful of Itozakura's 1,000-plus sons to outperform him for marbling and growth. Just over half Shimane, with Okayama and Kedaka blood, TF147 combines a larger frame with beautiful marbling, averaging about 8.5 out of 9 on the Australian scale and producing notably tender beef (tenderness score 7). His daughters are valued for excellent milk and calm temperament. Together with Itoshigenami TF148, Michifuku and Kitateruyasudoi '003', he is among the four most-used foundation sires in Australia, accounting with them for roughly half of all Australian registrations, and he recorded about 4,168 Australian-registered progeny.
