Kitaguni Jr
Mixed · 489 AU progeny
Kitaguni Jr (FB2422), born 1994, is a Fullblood Black bull prized as a cross-line sire linking the Shimane/Fujiyoshi and Kedaka/Tottori worlds. He is the son of Kitaguni 7-8 J1530, the most famous son of Dai 7 Itozakura J65 whose own dam was a Kedaka cow, making Kitaguni 7-8 a celebrated Dai 7-Kedaka composite, out of Nakayuki J13943, so Kitaguni Jr is a grandson of Dai 7 Itozakura. Breeder analyses put his makeup near 37% Tajima, 25% Itozakura and about 12.5% each of Kedaka, Shimane and Okayama, a deliberately balanced mix. That combination gives his calves noticeably larger frame and enhanced growth while still grading Prime+ to Prime+++, uniting Itozakura marbling with Kedaka size. In large feeding trials his F1 progeny fed 540 days achieved about 1.8 lb ADG with 65% grading 9+ on the Australian scale. He recorded roughly 489 registrations in Australia. For breeders seeking to add growth and outcross diversity without abandoning marbling, Kitaguni Jr remains one of the go-to composite foundation sires.
