Yasutanisakura
Tajima · exported 1994 · 129 AU progeny
Yasutanisakura, best known as JVP Yasutanisakura 931 (FB2102), is a Fullblood Black Tajima sire imported to the United States by Japanese Venture Partners in 1994 alongside the black bulls Kikuyasu and Fukutsuru. He descends from the revered Yasutani Doi line of Tajima out of Hyogo, a line Japanese national semen salesmen call the finest for marbling and fat flavour. His sire is Yasukane 1682 and his dam Nakatani 1851772, with Dai 7 Itozakura appearing as maternal grandsire. That Itozakura cross is credited with giving him a rare combination for a heavy-Doi bull: intense marbling plus genuine milk and maternal ability, making him a favourite for building breeding females. He recorded roughly 129 registrations in Australia. Genetically he tests carrier for B3, CL16 and F11 and free for CHS. His legacy sits at the luxury end of the Wagyu spectrum, prized where no-expense-spared marbling is the goal, and his blood flows into elite Doi-influenced marbling sires used worldwide.
