Haruki 2
Mixed · exported 1993 · 1,665 AU progeny
World K's Haruki 2 (FB1614) is a prominent foundation Fullblood sire and a half-brother to Michifuku, both sired by Monjiro 11550. His dam is Sakura 2 J741638. Haruki 2 was among the very first Black Wagyu bulls exported from Japan, flown out in July 1993 by the Mannett Group (later World K's / Westholme) alongside Michifuku and three Tajima-influenced heifers; the first Fullbloods born outside Japan were second-generation embryos sired by Haruki 2. Unlike his purely Tajima half-brother, Haruki 2 is a genetically balanced bull, roughly 56% Tajima with meaningful Shimane (Fujiyoshi), Itozakura and Kedaka contributions, which made him valued for well-rounded outcomes rather than marbling alone. Breeders prize him for small-birth-weight calves that grow rapidly to above-average weaning and yearling weights, for daughters with superior milk, and for excellent temperament, and he is one of only three foundation sires with a positive grass-fed score. He remains one of the most consistent marbling sires used across North America and Australia, with roughly 1,665 registered progeny in Australia. His birth year is not authoritatively documented.
