JVP Kikuyasu-400 (FB2100) is the flagship sire of the Kikuyasu line and one of the original Tajima bulls imported to the United States by Japanese Venture Partners in 1994. He is 100% Tajima and linebred on Kikunoridoi, arguably the most famous bull ever bred in Hyogo Prefecture, home of Kobe beef, with his maternal grandsire Kikuterudoi being a Kikunoridoi son and among the highest-marbling bulls in Wagyu history. His sire, Kikuyasu-Doi, produced the Grand Champion group at the Japanese National Carcass Competition. Kikuyasu-400's distinguishing trait is size: at roughly 1,938-1,980 lb he was the largest and heaviest pure-Tajima bull ever exported from Japan, and breeders use him to add frame and ribeye area to Tajima programs without sacrificing the line's signature fine marbling. He recorded roughly 611 registered progeny in Australia and remains a foundation sire behind many American and Australian herds, his semen becoming scarce and valuable over time. His exact birth year and dam are not documented in the sources reviewed.
